Huchada Bakery

Order: All sorts of stuff (I honestly don’t remember the name of all of it, just lots of pastries)

Price: $7

Positives: Everything was exceptionally fresh, the bread was fantastic, the cake was exceptional, prices were amazing

Negatives: Parking can be chaotic and there isn’t an orderly “line” for ordering

tldr: Best bakery we found on Aruba, I’m just sad we found it 6 hours before we left.

Thoughts: So right before we left Aruba we stopped by a bakery and grabbed some pastries, and food, and cake (yes, we eat cake before noon, life is way cooler if you do). The inside of the bakery was a bit chaotic, but the food kind of chaos, like the kind of chaos you find when you go to a good market, or a local market in most other countries. It’s a blast.

Anyway, we sort of just ordered what looked good, and what we thought we could eat before we had to go get on our plane. There were towers of loaves of bread, dozens of different kinds of pastries and cakes. And all of them looked fabulous. I can’t speak to them all but the one we got was full of the most delicious cream and had a light fruity taste.

The pastries we devoured later were flaky and buttery. They weren’t too oily or dense, they were just about perfect. And we were there later on in the morning, I can only imagine how good they would be if they were warm.

If you’ve got some time on Aruba and you like pastries or cake (and come on, EVERYONE likes pastries and cake, am I right?) you should get over to Huchada for some delicious eats.
